Let us clairify the Principles of Thermodynamics. This is a subject that no one seems to understand and comprehend. First AND Foremost, one must remember that the Principles of Thermodynamics
ARE ONLY APPLICABLE TO A “CLOSED” SYSTEM.
Earth is a wide-open system receiving energy from millions, billions, trillions of sources. Let us take a look... Some text copied and pasted from this Great Wiki page. Otherwise, mine own and original bullshit. Additionally, as Principles, they are numbered 0-3, NOT 1-4. Get this correct.
Zeroth Principle
If two systems are each in thermal equilibrium with a third, they are also in thermal equilibrium with each other.
In other words, entropy of closed systems can and will equalize and approach a counterbalanced and equipoised set of systems. Or, more simply, they all equalize to the same level of heat.
First Principle
In a process without transfer of matter, the change in internal energy, ΔU, of a thermodynamic system is equal to the energy gained as heat, Q, less the thermodynamic work, W, done by the system on its surroundings.
In other words, as thermodynamic energy is dissipated, it becomes work (Power measured in Watts), then the work loses energy as heat. This causes the system to approach a minimal entropy state. And this is what most people get wrong about entropy: As energy is lost, approaches a minimal state; thus, also does entropy. IOW, as energy goes down, so does the entropy. Most persons think as energy goes down, entropy rises. Au contraire. Energy and Entropy are directly proportional, not inversely. Basically, changing from one energy form to another will ALWAYS lose some energy in the form of heat due to work perform by that loss of energy.
THIS is the Principle that ALL religion calls the “2nd law” and love to say that science violates this Principle with/in everything science. Remember, applicable to ONLY closed systems. This is the part that the religiously retarded confuse. Earth is not a closed system. As far as us humans know, there are NO closed systems. Even the universe it self may not be closed. 7734, we still do not know if the universe is an open system. Depends on whether you follow the Closed Universe model or the Open Universe model.
Second Principle
Heat does not spontaneously flow from a colder body to a hotter body.
In other words, “heat” radiates and “cold” absorbs, Relatively speaking. However, anything above 0K radiates “heat”. “Cold” is entirely relative. In FACT, there is no such thing as “cold”, excepting your subjective opinion. And that will fly over every religious persons’ head like the ISS. As I reiterate, anything, everything, something, nothing that is above 0K radiates heat.
Third Principle
As the temperature of a system approaches absolute zero (0K), all processes cease and the entropy of the system approaches a minimum value.
In other words, energy dissipates until there IS no further energy within a closed system. Zero (0) Kelvin. Also called Absolute Zero. No energy left. Perhaps only the entirety of the cosmos/universe is closed, but everything else within is not. Not yet...
And notice the last two words, “minimum value”. If energy dissipates to a minimum value, thus does entropy. Most of the religious gets this one FACT completely arse-backwards. Matt Slick at carm.org is a primary example. According to him, as energy is lost (runs down) entropy increases, becomes more chaotic. In True Reality, as energy dissipates, the entropy also drops, indicative of going from a chaotic high-energy state to a more orderly low-energy state. He loves to think that entropy indicates chaos when in fact it indicates order.
Sorry about bringing religion into this. It was the only way to make the point on how most persons have the energy-entropy thing incorrect. And the religious are the most vocally idiotic about that FACT. Energy ∝ Entropy. NOT, Energy ∝ 1/Entropy.
For example: Sol outputs what, billions of MW of power each second. IMS, Sol outputs GigaJoules of energy. Fact-Check: Actually just millions, not billions, of MW of power. The human body may output what, 80-100 W of power. Now which is in a more orderly state? Us Humans. Thus, the entropy of a human body is much, much lower in actual value than the entropy of Sol.
Thus, Energy and Entropy are directly proportional, not inversely as many would have you beLIEve. Just remember these two FACTs:
Another point Religitards fail to understand is the term “maximal value”. For Entropy, maximal value = 0.000; minimal value = 1.000. Counterintuitive. Religitards think “maximal value” for Entropy means “chaos”. Arse-backwards dummies. The maximal value for entropy actually means order. But always remember that one Absolute: Within order, there is chaos. Within chaos, there is order.
T…H…I…N…K…
The simplest mistake most persons make is that all the Principles of Thermodynamics are ONLY applicable to closed systems. That is, systems that have no energy input into them. Currently, the Earth is an open system with huge amounts of energy being input into its system from millions of sources. Primarily from Sol.
If you were to take the entirety of the cosmos/universe, all accumulated OHEFE suggests that ONLY the cosmos/universe Itself may be a closed system. Operant word: may. All the systems within are still OPEN until the cosmos/universe approaches 0K. Currently, the cosmos/universe is at ≈2.86±0.03K. Yet, we still do not know if the universe is a closed system.
A question humans shall never discover the answer. We shall probably extinct ourselves loonngg before then. However, there are the two ways of viewing the universal model.
The Closed Model
Rather simple. The universe continues to expand infinitely. All energy is dissipated and entropy has reached a completely ordered state. No life. No stars. Just piles of rubble going every which way. The only possible entropy (chaos) would derive from rubble impacts. O! here is where some confusion comes into play. Once “heat dead”, the universe has reached its maximal entropy state. Maximal entropy state, that is where the confusion lies. People will tend to think of a “maximal state” as being infinite. Maximum level. 100%. Wrong. Once all energy is gone, entropy is at a 0 level. The universe will then be in its most “ordered” state. No energy to cause chaos and high entropy. Utter death.
The Open Model
The Open Model suggests that the universe goes through cycles of Expansion–Contraction–Expansion–Contraction–Expansion–… It goes like this. We had the Big Bang which caused universal Expansion. As long as there is energy, this expansion continues. Like the Closed Model, the universe will reach a maximal energyless and entropy state. Once the enegy is all gone and there is nothing to continue to push the expansion, the weakest of the Four Fundamental Forces (FFF) takes over.
Gravity is by far the weakest of the FFF:
The Weak Force is 1 million-billion-billion-billion times more powerful than Gravity. Although the weakest, gravity, with new insights into quantum mechanics, may be the most universally effective. Once the expansion stops due to the 0K state, gravity begins to pull everything back onto itself. Eventually, all that stuff will fall back into a singularity. When the singularity is energetic enough, BOOM!, universal expansion begins anew. A never-ending infinite existence for the universe. O! and before any religious idiots try to misinform you, really THINK about this: That collapse of the universe into a singularity will be putting back a UNIVERSE’s worth of energy back into that singularity. No violation of Thermodynamics. All that energy and entropy gets put back into the expansion.
Of course, the Open Model Begs the Question: “Which Iteration of the universe are we currently in?” Of course, this question is moot, even if this is the First Iteration. Would it not be KEWL to have the technology to view past Iterations. Probably would not be able to visit those past iterations, but viewing them would be possible. Then that stands to reason we would also be able to see future Iterations. Then again, I would not care if the technology to view the other Iterations was ever invented. It would be kewl, but like the question, entirely moot.
