And finally, some of the stuff I have finally remembered and thunked later.

Oblateness

This is something ALL celestial objects possess if they rotate. No matter how slow the rotation, a celestial body will oblate around the equatorial region. Now here is something most do not know. On an oblate spheroid, what happens to longitudinal distance measures (ie–along merdians) from the equator to the poles?

As shockingly unbelievable as it may sound, longitudinal measures (going N-S) away from the equator actually increase between degrees latitude. In other words, measuring from 0° to 1°N could be 1000km. Measuring from 89°N to 90°N could be 1111km. The increase is so subtle, one does not notice it. But longitudinal distance measures do actually increase as one leaves the equator going towards the poles.

Oblateness is another concern to consider in Cartography. This is why a GISS is great, even for a fantasy world. If you define the geoid and terrain model of your world well enough, a GISS will compensate for you as you measure the adventure paths. However, it does require some brutal learning. Thus, how much seeking of learning and knowledge are you willing to put in?

OblateSphere

⇑⇑ If you look closely enough, you can actually see this phenomenon. Of course, this sphere is highly exaggerated to show this phenomenon. This happens with all rotating celestial objects. Tumbling objects, this does not apply.

Look at the map above. Along the equator, Onaviu is depicted as long along the top edge and bottom edge.

But, what is the length of that distance along the top and bottom edges?

The distance along the bottom edge and top edge is: 0 units (zero).

And since that distance measure is 0, yet depicted to be as long as the equator, that is where the distortion comes into play. And the polar “pinching” effect when reprojecting it onto a spheroidal/geoidal object.


Unfolding Dimensions

The ratio Onaviu ÷ Earth is rounded to 6th decimal place.

See how those numbers drastically increase in ratio as you go up to higher dimensions for different measures: 1 to 2 (areal), 2 to 3 (volume). Now take that 3-D sphere and unfold it into 2-D and the damn plane thus defined would be much, much larger in 2-D than it was in 3-D. Perhaps hundreds of thousands of kilometers Radius circular plane, if unfolding Earth. Then unfold that plane into 1-D and you end up with a line feature of incredible length. Perhaps lightyears long. Remember my thought of unfolding a 13‑D proton into our 3-D Realm? Now, can you see that it could be unfolded to be much larger than the Earth? Dare I say larger than our stellar system? Mind boggling ain’t it? And I was thinking of stuff like this over ½ a century ago.

Intraspatial Folding

Remember. This is NOT Interspatial Folding where you swap two different spatial volumes and all that which is within. Basically, a form of teleportation without destruction à la Star Trek transporters. With Interspatial Folding, you define two equal volumes of space in two different locations, then swap those spaces and everything within.

WILD TANGENT: Just as started to proofread. Star Trek, original, Season 3, Episode 17, “That Which Survives”. The way Lee Meriwether’s “Losira” vanishes. She folded into 2-D, then 1-D (line), then 0-D (point). Then gone. Much easier to “teleport” a single point than a 3-D object. She was intraspatially folded, then teleported, or whatever.

Essentially, Earth can be defined with a VMR of 6 million, 371 thousand, and 2 meters Radius. Now take all those radii and fold them down, intraspatially, into a 2-D plane, then into a 1-D line of 6,371,002 meters long. The peoples of Onaviu are using that “vast empty space” (VES) within to fold the objects within a single object utilizing higher dimensional intraspatial folding. Remember removing the VES from the Washington Monument would make it about 5 meters tall. From its original 169m height. All that vast... empty... space... can have higher dimensional objects “folded” into that VES. And since they are folded into higher dimensions within, it does not add mass to the final single object. Freaking nuts, right?

AND, think on this. If the Kalamorn on Etherlond were numerous and/or powerful enough, they could simply fold their world into a single point, wait for danger to be gone, then unfold it back. Talk about stretching…

In fact, using this Intra-Spatial Folding Theory, a PowerUser from Onaviu could fold the Washington Monument into a single block. How big are those blocks? Then s/he could take that block and fold it into a plate about 2cm thick. Since the intraspatial folding does not actually add mass, one could then carry the Washington Monument wherever and unfold it there. 7734, some of the most powerful PowerUsers on Onaviu can actually fold a house into a cube no bigger than 10cm × 10cm × 10cm. Attach a handle and can easily carry it about. Kewl. No?

That is where some of my scientific studies can come up with and still make it scientifically feasible; although, stretching like a gant’s arse over the end of an oil barrel. Then they also have fractal space-time geometries and geodesic space-time geometries to utilize.

Remember This?

Answer: Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. The HUP. Now, just Uncertainty Principle, or, Principle of Uncertainty.

Examples:

I know this may be incorrect, BUT it is my way of distinguishment. Precision is the number of units of measure you have, accuracy is the actual measure value. IOW, 1000m is precise; 100,011cm is accurate. I know, completely wrong, but that is how I do it. For me, the 1000m is precise and accurate enough. To 7734 with those 11cm of accuracy. Make sense?

THAT is the simplest I can put the Principle of Uncertainty. You make ONE measure, all other possible measures are moot, with moot meaning, “of no significance”. If you measured the Velocity of something, then the only thing you get out of it is the vector of movement (VoM). Its Electrical Potential is 0 as far as that measure is concerned. Even if the material had a large electrical potential, once we measure its VoM, Electrical Potential measure is moot. If we instead measured its Electrical Potential, that tells us absolutely nothing about its VoM. Comprendez-vous? That is the Principle of Uncertainty: You can know only one thing about anything at given observational measure.

Something in me tiny little mind keeps telling me that is actually: Comprendnez-vous. ???


Yet, Another Thought Thunked

At one time, I thought of Reality kind of being like a Sierpenski Sponge, before Sierpenski invented his sponge. Got the idea studying a dead Sponge from the ocean. All those empty spaces, both large and small, what other things could be folded within from higher dimensions? Other space-time geometries?

Now, it is called quantum foam. I came up with ideas that were so far out there, I never thought of publishing them. Thought they were only the “fantasies” of a child’s imagination, because I WAS a child when I thunked them. Decades later, scientists are introducing those ideas, as I thought, idiotic and most retarded. Childish. Only to see them come to be. Things like that are what makes Life worth living. I never thought my childish ideas may possibly be true-ish. With the Principles of Science. That is how science fantasy can become true.

Who invented our modern day phones? Star Trek. Look at STTNG. PADDs were being used 20-30 years before they became possible. Those Flip Phones are STTOS communicators. Again, 20 years before technology caught up and could build such devices. PADD = Personal Access Data Device. I still tend to call laptop computers, notebook computers, tablets, and phones ALL as PADDs, from Star Trek.


Almost Forgotten

You might want to study up on Milankovitch Cycles. If Earth has them, so shall your world. Unless your stellar system is a 2-Body Problem only. Then, is it tidally locked with the star? For eventually it shall become so. 2-Body Problems always end that way. Tidally locked. Rotational Period is equal to its Orbital Period. Then there is libration.


A Note for GMs

Here is one thing I have noticed about virtually all RPSs: Quit calling ALL things characters encounter and battle “monsters”. Most are NOT monsters. Most are just “animals” acting as an animal shall. Quit calling them monsters. Yes, creatures like my Suryanyiko are monstrous, but it ain’t a monster. It is an animal that evolved upon Udava and Onaviu. May bring it to Etherlond.

Thus, call them creatures or animals. Monsters only exist if there is evil in the world that DOES create monsters from mockeries. That is the difference. Animals are created/evolve on their own. Evil mocks creation/evolution by abusing those animals to make them into monsters. Make sense?

Another difference is that animals are simply hunting for food. Monsters just destroy and kill because of the torture they endure at the hands of their masters. Monsters also eat, but monsters just kill, maim, destroy because of WHAT they have been made into.
